San Diego Opera Scenic Studio should be your 1st stop for any theatrical or presentation production. We can help you from the beginning of your project including design, building, painting, and installation. In addition to our construction facilities for the manufacture of large and small scale scenery, we also have a complete stage drapery department. We have sewn and installed drapes and backdrops for a host of regional theatres, museums, schools, and churches including California Center for the Arts, San Diego Civic Theatre, Copley Symphony Hall, San Diego’s Spreckels Theatre, Malashock Dance, Lyric Opera Chicago, San Diego City College, Vista’s Emmanuel Faith Church, and Cardiff Elementary School.

We have expanded our business to incorporate theatrical rigging installations, repairs & re-models. We had a significant part in the renovation of the North Park Theatre and the retrofit of Symphony Hall’s rigging system, as well as work on the restoration of the historic Balboa Theatre. Dovetailing the fabrication resources available in our shops, we can easily create last minute hardware to aid in the installation. This capability positions us very favorably in this market.
